Background

BRIDGE is a web-based inspection app built by Deep Trekker. Enabling both private and public entities to maintain critical infrastructure and perform underwater ROV inspections in industries such as Defence, Search and Rescue, Aquaculture and Offshore Energy.

Thanks to the BRIDGE web app, customers have experienced drastic improvements to their operational efficiency along with enabling them to operate comfortably from any setup.

Overview

I've led multiple 0-1 projects within the Product team at Deep Trekker, overseeing the enhancement of our customer's experience in our digital and physical products.

A few years back, Deep Trekker pivoted towards a web-based technology stack that gave our team a major opportunity to develop an improved inspection and reporting application.

The following is an sneak peak at the projects I've led in this space.

Mission Planning

Navigation is key when it comes to the majority of underwater ROV operations. To better support our customer's needs in documenting points of interest and performing repeat inspections, the Mission Planning feature was created.

  • Improved customer workflows and increased job efficiency with the addition of offline planning.
  • Delivered highly requested features to our advanced users thanks to iteration and tight feedback loops
  • Contributed to the company's marketing campaign which resulted in a click rate improvement of ~8%

Advanced Diagnostics

In the ROV industry, a major contributor to the end user's experience is the Service team's effectiveness. Because of this, we worked closely with our team to identify how we could 1. Reduce service ticket volume and 2. Improve their experience diagnosing problematic ROVs.

  • Identified high points of friction in the service team's path-to-solution by analyzing tickets with the worst turnaround.
  • Conducted internal focus groups to identify wants & needs
  • Developed advanced diagnostic tools that put the power of easily understanding ROV health in the user's hands
